February Newsletter 2017

We hope you have all been enjoying these lovely summer days that we’ve been having and making the most of the long weekends.

It’s a new year and perhaps you have decided to add a new furry friend to your family. If you are the proud new owner of a puppy, don’t forget that we run puppy preschool all-year around with a new programme starting once every four weeks.

Puppy Preschool is a course designed for puppies between 8 and 16 weeks. It is during this time that puppies go through a critical learning and socialisation period. At this age, puppies benefit most from exploring new places, having new experiences, and accepting new situations. This makes it the perfect time for introducing puppies to lots of people, other dogs, and an environment they need to become familiar with – the vets! Through the programme, puppies learn to accept being handled, basic commands, and how to interact and play nicely with other puppies. Owners learn about normal puppy behaviour, body language, proper nutrition and the importance of ongoing socialisation and training.

The course runs for four weeks with weekly one hour long sessions at a total cost of $110. In order to be eligible for the classes, puppies must be between 8 and 16 weeks. They must have had their first vaccination and be following a vaccination programme. The courses will be held on a Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8pm.
